Y4 Curriculum

The curriculum at Carterknowle is well sequenced so that children are able to revisit knowledge gained in previous years, and build upon this throughout year 4. We plan lessons to be engaging, as well as current and relevant. In year 4, we hope to inspire children and help them to develop a sense of awe and wonder in the world around them. We also focus on citizenship and encourage the children to reflect on their place in the community and help them to become responsible citizens.

Learning is also brought to life for the children through exciting enrichment opportunities, for example a geography field trip to Longshaw, a day looking at a range of artists at the Yorkshire Sculpture Park and a visit to the local church at Easter.  As well as going on trips, we have experts come into school to share their expertise with us. We even curate our very own museum full of ‘historical artefacts’!
